Zugspitze: A rack railroad takes you up to the highest mountain of Germany, which you can board in the city centre (3 km from the hotel) and takes 1,5 hours to the top. The lower terminus of the cable car is located at the Eibsee (8 km from the hotel and takes you to the top in about 15 minutes.

Wieskirche: The rococo pilgrimage church of international fame is located within 45 km distance from Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Steingaden). Daily free visits possible.

Kloster Ettal: A visit to the benedictine abbey (distance 10 km) is free.

Linderhof palace: King louis II most favorite palace is located within 16 km distance from the hotel is definitely worth a visit. A visit to the palace, the venus cave (with guide) and the enchanting gardens takes about 2-3 hours. Untill March you can visit the palace without the gardens. Ca.€ 7,- entrance fee.

Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau palace: Both adjoining wonderful fairytail palaces are located within 60 km from the hotel and lead the visitor back to times of king Lous II. A visit to both palaces costs ca. €17,- and takes up half a day at the least.
